02 Embroidery

About Your Embroidered Garments

Your garments are branded using professional embroidery equipment to the highest standard. Here's what you need to know.

Quality Feature

Embroidery Backing Material

You may notice a fabric material on the inside of your garment behind the embroidered logo. This is embroidery stabiliser (backing) and it's a sign of quality craftsmanship, not a defect.

Why we use it

Backing stabilises the fabric during embroidery, preventing puckering and distortion. We select the right backing for each fabric type - 80g cut away for standard fabrics, weblon for stretchy materials - to ensure your logo sits cleanly and looks sharp.

Better durability

The backing reinforces the stitching, meaning your logo holds its shape through repeated washing and daily wear. With proper backing, embroidery is significantly more resistant to fading than printed logos.

Easy to remove

If more than 1-2cm of backing remains around your logo, you can trim the excess with scissors. We recommend leaving some backing around the embroidery as it helps the logo hold up longer. Don't pull or tear it - just trim neatly.

Industry best practice

Using proper backing material is the professional standard for high-quality embroidery. Different fabrics need different backings, and we match the right stabiliser to every garment. This is a quality indicator, not a shortcut.

03 Care

Looking After Your Workwear

Follow these guidelines to keep your garments looking professional and extend their lifespan. Your branded workwear is an investment - treat it right and it'll last.

Wash at 40°C

All garments should be washed at 40°C maximum. Higher temperatures cause shrinkage, colour fading, and damage to embroidered logos. This applies across every brand in your range.

Turn Inside Out

Always turn branded garments inside out before washing. This protects embroidery and printed logos from friction during the wash cycle. Essential for industrial laundry too.

Never Use Bleach

Bleach will damage your garments and destroy embroidered branding. Avoid bleach-based detergents and stain removers entirely. A standard non-bio detergent at 40°C handles workshop grime effectively.

Tumble Drying

Low heat only where the care label permits. Many workwear fabrics are best air-dried. High heat causes shrinkage and can damage technical fabrics like softshells and padded jackets.

Ironing

Never iron directly over embroidery. Turn the garment inside out and iron from the back, placing a cotton cloth between the iron and the embroidery. Ironing directly on embroidery is the single biggest care mistake customers make.

First Wash

Wash new garments before first wear. Some slight colour release on the first wash is normal and not a fault. Washing inside out from day one helps preserve both prints and embroidery.

Quick answers to the most common questions about your workwear.

We recommend sizing up if you're between sizes - workwear needs room for movement. The exception is ORN T-shirts and polos, which run generous; for those, size down one. Warrior trousers come in Short (29"), Regular (31") and Tall (33") leg lengths, so get the waist right and pick the leg that suits you.

With proper care, expect 6-12 months of daily wear depending on the type of work. If you're not regularly around sharp objects or heavy abrasion, garments will last toward the longer end. Following the care instructions in this guide - particularly the 40°C wash and no bleach rule - makes a real difference.

Yes. All garments are compatible with industrial and commercial laundering, provided two rules are followed: wash inside out and keep the temperature at 40°C. Higher temperatures and harsher chemicals used in some commercial machines can cause damage if these steps aren't taken.

No - this is embroidery stabiliser and it's a quality feature, not a defect. It reinforces your embroidered logo and prevents fabric puckering. Any excess can be easily removed by hand. See the Embroidery section above for full details.

Minor issues like loose ends can be fixed with hand stitching. However, full re-embroidery over existing work isn't possible - the layered stitching would be too thick and wouldn't hold properly. The best approach is to take care of your embroidery from day one: wash inside out, never iron directly on the logo, and avoid stretching the fabric where embroidery is applied.

Contact your account manager at Clothing House to place a replacement order. Single branded items take 10-15 working days. Dual branded items (with your logo) take up to 15-20 working days depending on stock availability and embroidery scheduling.

Single branded: 10-15 working days. Refresh run on dual branded (existing logo): up to 15 working days. New dual branded (new logo setup): up to 20 working days, allowing for artwork creation and approval.
